Feed hygiene and poultry health
Every year more than 100 million tons of finished feed is fed to broilers
alone. A small percentage of contamination can be very costly to the grower as
well as for the consumer. Contaminated feed makes the final product unhealthy
and unfit for consumption. It also may adversely affect production performance
parameters such as health, body weight, feed conversion, mortality and the
(re-)production rate of layers and breeders.
