Police arrest five in poultry waste transport, in India

28-05-2012 | | |

In the Pollachi region of India policemen arrested five individuals attempting to transport dump poultry waste. Illegal dumping in India is becoming increasingly common.

The persons were from the neighbouring state of Kerala, and the occasion  prompted the district administration to re-issue a warning that strict action would be taken against those transporters and land owners who would illegally dump waste on vacant lands.

A lorry carrying five tonnes of poultry waste was intercepted at a checkpost.
