MHP increases sales rate of poultry by 8%

MHP, one of the largest agribusiness companies in Ukraine, increased the sales of poultry meat by 8% – to 182.1 thousand tonnes in the first half of 2011, financial statements reveal.

According to the company’s financial results, its share in the Ukrainian market of industrial poultry production in the first half of 2011 remained at the level of 50%. During this period, all MHP structure departments for production of poultry meat continued to work at 100% capacity utilization.

It is also noted that consumer demand for poultry meat in the Ukrainian market remained high, and the company managed to sell about 100% of produced poultry. The average selling price of chicken meat in the second quarter of 2011 was by 9% higher than in the first quarter of 2011, and 1% higher than the second quarter of 2010, reaching USD 1.74.

“The results of our activities suggest that nowadays there is still a great demand in the domestic market. We were able to increase the production of poultry and at the same time to realise 100% of output. Now we’re focused on building a new complex in the Vinnytsia region, which will be the largest in Europe, and let MHP to become one of the world’s largest exporter of poultry meat,” the official statement of the company said.
