Probiotic authorised for broilers in EU
The probiotic Fecinor, manufactured and marketed by Norel, has received approval for use in broilers in the EU.
Fecinor is a probiotic, a live microorganism that positively affects the intestinal balance, consisting on a non GMO Enterococcus faecium strain isolated from the ileum of healthy animals.
The fast rate of colonisation of Enterococcus faecium and its affinity for the intestinal environment makes fecinor a useful tool to successfully colonise the GIT, ensuring better animal performance and health.
Different laboratory tests show that E. faecium CECT 4515 slows down the enterobacteria multiplication and pathological processes.
The probiotic was already authorised for use in swine.
