Agricultural holding Ovostar increased the volume of egg production to 1.038 billion pieces in 2014, 16% higher than in 2013, stated a report from the company’s press-service.

As of December 31, 2014 the total number of flock increased by 12% – up to 5.6 million heads year-on-year. The number of laying hens increased by 15% – up to 4.4 million heads in the same period.

Egg production, sales and export

Also noteworthy is the volume of egg sales increased by 25% – up to 733 million pieces. In 2014 the company increased eggs export – from 30 million pieces in 2013 to 89 million pieces in 2014. The average selling price for eggs in 2014 increased by 15% – up to UAH 8.19 per dozen (USD$ 0.31) from UAH 7.15 (USD$ 0.27) per dozen in 2013

In 2014, the company processed 319 million eggs, compared to 266 million pieces in 2013. Sales volume of dry egg products increased by 14% year-on-year up to 1,700 tonnes and the volume of export sales was increased by 55% – up to 820 tonnes.

Investments to further improve the company and its facilities

It is reported that Ovostar will continues to implement its investment programme in the territory Stavyschenskogo industrial complex in the Kyiv region, which will let the company to further increase its production capacity this year

“The poultry house has already been launched, while the commissioning of the fourth building is scheduled for April 2015. We have also launched a sorting complex with new equipment with the capacity of sorting 180,000 eggs an hour”  stated the press-service.
