Construction begins on large-scale Czech hatchery

As part of its vertical integration strategy, Výkrm Trebíc, part of Agrofert holding in the Czech Republic, has decided to expand its poultry division with a brand new high-capacity Petersime hatchery.

Once it is commissioned and running, the company will be fully controlling the entire production cycle from hatching to slaughter.

The new hatchery is being built about 60 km from Brno in Chropyně, an area with a high concentration of the company’s own broiler farms. Its total capacity, reaching up to 120 million day-old chicks per year, will be realised in several phases. Presently the construction of the first phase is in progress, with an annual capacity of 40 million day-old chicks.

The company selected Petersime to design the layout and provide the equipment for this hatchery. In the first phase, the new hatchery will be equipped with 24 single-stage BioStreamer setters for 24 trolleys, and 12 BioStreamer 8H hatchers. These will all be equipped with Embryo-Response Incubation technology.

Moreover, all HVAC equipment will be supplied by Petersime. The entire incubation process as well as all of the other conditions in the process rooms will be monitored by Petersime’s new Eagle Eye software. The hatchery will be using Petersime’s new 60 egg setter trays as well as the special universal chick boxes for 75 chicks.
