Hendrix Genetics acquires Hisex Distribution

Hendrix Genetics Ltda. located in Salto, Brazil, and Interaves/ Globoaves, located in Birigui, Sao Paulo State, Brazil, reached an agreement regarding the acquisition of the distribution activities of Hisex layers. The acquisition comprises the existing Hisex Parent Stock layers and hatchery in Birigui, including all staff.

The transaction between both parties has been concluded in a positive atmosphere that ensures continuous supply and quality for all customers and keeping the focus on customer care. Hendrix Genetics is a global leader in layer genetics, and with this acquisition, Brazilian egg producers will have direct access to premium quality, day-old Hisex chicks, directly from the source.

Novogen forges new North American partnerships

Novogen, the French supplier of layer Grand Parent Stock and Parent stock to the independent players in the egg industry has strengthened its position in the North American market. After an intensive testing period the Friesen Group Companies’ Pacific Pride Chicks of Abbotsford, British Columbia and Featherland Farms of Sumas, Washington have both made a move to support and solely commit to the Novogen product portfolio.

Featherland Farms serves the Western United States while Pacific Pride Chicks services with their hatchery in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Friesen Group clients said they were encouraged with the performance of the NOVOgen BROWN and the NOVOgen WHITE laying hens. Persistency, intact feathers, improved feed intake and shell strength are just some of the positive aspects of the NOVOGEN products that customers are highlighting.

Strategic marketing agreement for Nuscience and Jubilant Life Sciences

Nuscience Group and Jubilant Life Sciences have announced a strategic marketing collaboration agreement for the distribution of Nuscience products in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Jubilant Life Sciences is an integrated global pharmaceutical and life sciences company. Nuscience Group is a global player in premixes, concentrates, nutritional concepts and feed additives in the animal nutrition industry.

Under the agreement, Jubilant will market the Nuscience Health4U products in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The products are targeted at poultry species and are aimed to benefit breeders, broiler integrators and grandparent farms. The association will also enable Jubilant to further enhance its animal nutrition products portfolio and reach out to large volume of poultry, dairy swine and aqua producers.

Award for North American Cobb700 Flock of the Year

The Thomas family of Carthage, Mississippi, has won the award for the top Cobb700 flock in North America. Skip Sprayberry, breeder manager of Peco Sebastopol, said Liza Thomas, along with her husband Chris, had built their farm in 1997, seeking to expand and complement their existing row crop and cattle farm.  They raised their son and daughter on the family farm and now have three grandchildren enjoying the farm life.

“Liza Thomas credits her success in the business to personally getting up each morning and feeding the flock herself,”  he said. “Liza is assisted daily by Bip Zollicoffer, a neighbour and friend to the family. She credits him with helping her take care of routine maintenance of equipment in the laying houses.

Nutriad helped sponsor 2015-2016 USA scholarships

International feed additives producer Nutriad, alongside various other corporate sponsors, proudly sponsored Targeting Excellence and as such contributed to the funding of excellence awards to students in agriculture. Across the USA scholarships were awarded to 58 students enrolled in two-year, four- year, graduate and veterinary programs with a focus on food animal agriculture.

The mission of Targeting Excellence – www.TargetingExcellence.org – is to sponsor events that bring together professional leaders of agricultural businesses, production systems, and institutions of higher education – with students – for the purpose of building personal relationships, exchanging ideas, and improving communications, while raising funds for scholarships.

Imkon adopts Smart AMF for new Uzbekistan hatchery

Uzbekistan’s Imkon Group will boost its plans for expansion and further development with a new SmartPro hatchery from Pas Reform. Originally founded in 2007, Imkon has grown over the past eight years to incorporate four companies: Imkon Premix, the Imkon Sut Fayz feedmill, Ohangarron Nasilli Parranda parent stock farm and a hatchery, Imkon Broiler.

With the capacity for hatching 7.8 million eggs in 2008, the original parent farm and hatchery were conceived to overcome difficulties in importing hatching eggs, at a time when the country’s poultry sector was just emerging. Imkon’s new hatchery complex is due for completion in February 2017, with Pas Reform providing full site planning and project management services, as well as ongoing technical support from Pas Reform Academy specialists. The installation will bring the new hatchery’s initial capacity to 12 million hatching eggs per year.
