Avian influenza in Thailand: learning the hard way

The AI crisis in Thailand has resulted in the culling of more than 20 million birds, costing the Thai economy more than 50 million baht in poultry export earnings. This has provided farmers, industry leaders and government with an important “learning” opportunity and the sooner addressed, the better.
