Russia lifts ban on Pennsylvanian poultry

Pennsylvanian poultry is back on the menu in Russia, after a temporary import ban was lifted with effect from October 14.

The ban had applied to live chickens, incubator eggs, poultry products, chicken fodder and used poultry equipment. The ban was put in place on 8 September, after a low-pathogenic strain of bird flu was discovered in Pennsylvania.
A similar ban on Maryland poultry was lifted on October 12. card in the battle between Russia and the US regarding Russia’s US import quotas and its membership of the WTO.
