Six held for smuggling poultry
Six people have been detained after trying to smuggle
chickens and ducks out of a remote region in north-eastern India following an
outbreak of bird flu.
â€œWe have come across many reports of people loading their poultry into vans
and other modes of transport and shifting them to other places to escape
culling,â€ K Gopal, officer of the Animal Disease Control Programme.
