With the sale of poultry processor Plukon Royale, ForFarmers said it is withdrawing itself from the poultry meat processing business.

Cebeco Groep BV, owner of Plukon Royale Group, is selling the poultry processor to investment company Gilde Buy Out Partners.

Cebeco Groep is fully owned by the Dutch feed companies Agrifirm and ForFarmers.

For Farmers has decided no longer to participate in the new venture and quit the poultry meat business. “We want to concentrate on our key activities; selling animal feed,” explains commercial director Jan Potijk.

Agrifirm is still considering to stay involved in poultry processing, but wants to lowers its share from 50% to 20 or 25%. “We have a lot of trust in the future of Plukon, it is a healthy firm and still growing” said Agrifirm Director Ton Loman.

The sale still has to be approved by the Plukon workers council and the competition authorities.
