Hain Pure Protein ups kosher poultry production
Hain Pure Protein is expanding its poultry processing facility in Plainville, N.Y.with the aim of increasing production of kosher poultry products.
Reports state that approx. 90 employees will be furloughed in the beginning of January 2009 so the plant can be renovated for the addition of a new kosher line. Production is expected to comence in the beginning of February. When the new line is running, the company plans to hire additional staff.
The company has stated that turkey production at Plainville will move to Hain Pure Protein’s New Oxford, Pa. facility during time. The company believes this will result in increased cost savings and efficiencies at the facility.
