Melamine in British poultry eco-feed

10-12-2008 | |

Great Britain has found a large amount of ecological produced soy that contained melamine.

The soy came from China. The contamination was found during a company inspection when the soy was further processed to animal feed. The soy should have been destroyed, although this did not happen.

France also found contamination in 300 tonnes of ecological produced soy. The animals (poultry) that got the contaminated fed have been recalled.

Last month, melamine in soy was also found in the Netherlands. Also this soy was already further processed to animal feed and sold to farmers. The contaminated feed has been recalled and destroyed.
