Free-range poultry unit to be built in UK

Planners the the Lake District National Park have now given the go-ahead for a free-range poultry unit in the UK.

The unit, which will be formed of a 42.8m x 19.8m x 5.1m high poultry shed of metal sheeting above block walling, is to be built at Esps Farm, Lowick Green. This is a region of the UK that is covered by strict conservation regulations as it is designated a region of natural beauty.

The farm buildings are a mix of traditional stone barns and modern agricultural buildings with an extended farmhouse.
