Keystone Foods expands chicken processing plant

Food processing company Keystone Foods has announced an expansion of its operations Gadsden, Alabama, with an investment of US$118 mln in a new facility.

The Gadsden plant processes primarily chicken and a small amount of beef for the restaurant industry.
The company will relocate from its current 75,000 sq. ft. location in Gadsden to a new 184,000 sq. ft. location in town. The new plant will allow the company to double operations.
Keystone Foods will also lease a portion of the new property to Southern Cold Storage to build a storage and distribution facility to service the new plant.
