Int’l Conference: Farm animal production diseases

The 14th International Conference on Production Diseases in Farm Animals (ICPD) will be held in Gent, Belgium, from 20-24 June, 2010.

Today, the definition of ‘Production diseases’ has expanded to include not only metabolic and nutritional diseases, but also diseases of an infectious and genetic nature. The common theme of all these diseases is their association with management and selection of animals for efficient agricultural production.

Deadline for abstract submission: 1 February 2010

General topics include: lactation, reproduction and health; nutrition and health; welfare and production, and sustainable animal production.

Specific topics include: interaction between lactation and reproduction; genetics, management and health; nutrition, immunity and health; nutrition and metabolic diseases; housing; management, threats of emerging animal diseases, ecological footprint of animal production.
