Aviagen holds annual China Poultry Production School

Aviagen recently concluded its 4th annual China Poultry Production School at the Cactus Resort in Sanya City, Hanan Province in China (28 March – 3 April). The school – designed after the Aviagen Production Management School which will celebrate its 47th year this summer – is dedicated to sharing information and best practices with customers.

Aviagen‘s long established and highly comprehensive Production Management School in the US is well-known in the poultry industry. With the Aviagen China School, we’re bringing that same level of commitment and in-depth communication to customers here,” said Bill Souther, Senior VP, Aviagen Asia. He added that the School fosters collaboration between customers, Aviagen personnel, academia and other industry experts to better equip customers with the knowledge and tools to be successful.

During the 7-day course, more than 69 participants received presentations from 11 speakers including Aviagen poultry professionals and industry experts. Highlights of the comprehensive educational program include:
– Dr. Rafael Monleon, Asia Veterinarian, Aviagen, “Biosecurity Review of China”
– Dr. Kim Huang, Asia Nutritionist, Aviagen, “Nutrition Changes in China”
– Dr. Dinah Nicholson, Global Manager, Hatchery Development & Support for Aviagen, “Latest in Hatchery Practice”

Aviagen customers also contributed to the program, including Lu Jun, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Arbor Acres Poultry Breeding Company, and Gong Xin Min, Production Director of Shandong Yisheng Livestock and Poultry Breeding Company, Ltd.

The Aviagen China School provides an opportunity for local growers to gain valuable information, practical advice and insight on a variety of topics including regional management recommendations, product performance, nutritional advice, biosecurity objectives, and veterinarian issues at the grandparent, parent and broiler levels, says Aviagen.
