Petersime joins European research project on animal welfare
Petersime has joined the Bio-Business Project, a European research framework that examines the impact of industrial developments on animal welfare.
The consortium includes 11 selected “fellows” from different disciplines, covering the academic, scientific and industrial worlds. It will carry out research on methods, procedures and technologies that have an impact on animal welfare in industrial environments. The evaluation models derived from this research will provide the industry, consumers and regulating authorities with a better way to evaluate and improve the welfare of animals and will enable the creation of technology-based solutions.
“With this partnership, we have the possibility to broaden our normal thinking process of product and technology development,” says Pascal Garain, R&D manager at Petersime. “By combining the expertise of all partners in the consortium, we can bring innovative concepts for incubators and hatchery management that benefit poultry livestock welfare.”
The project will run over a total period of 48 months and is interconnected to the European funded Marie Curie research project.
