Poultry Temperton Fellowship awarded

Harper Adams University College has awarded its 21st Temperton Fellowship to researchers Julian Morgan and Mike Tyers, from Countrywide’s renewable division.

With it, they will investigate the role of the poultry industry in supply food to a growing global food population, despite having limited energy resources.

The Temperton Fellowship is established to honour the contribution of Dr Harold Temperton, who was director of the National Institute of Poultry Husbandry at Harper Adams University College for 23 years.

The fellowship is given annually to senior poultry researchers to encourage pioneer research that would ultimately benefit the industry.

Morgan and Tyer’s  findings will be presented at the Farmers’ Club in London on 10 June 2013.
