The Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) has said that it would reduce prices of the processed poultry products by 15% to provide benefit to the consumers.

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in its recent meeting had approved zero rating of duties on all kinds of processed poultry, meat and fish products, with the aim of providing benefit to low income consumers.
“As per decision of Economic Coordination Committee, the exemption of 15% sales tax would be transferred to the general consumers in the form of 15% reduction in the price of products,” said the PPA. In addition, by the virtue of ECC decision, poultry meat processed products would be exempted from levy of 15% tax, adding that the decision had been taken to make processed poultry meat products cheaper and competitive.
It was concluded that  poultry meat processed products would be available to the public on affordable rates relatively comparable with the products prepared in the informal wet market.
