Ovostar Union plans to increase egg production by 2014

Ovostar Union, one of the leading producers of eggs and egg products in Ukraine, intends to increase egg production up to 1.45 billion units by 2014.

According to the company’s annual report, in 2014 Ovostar also intends to increase the production of dry and liquid egg products to 12.5 thousand tonnes per year.

According to the report, within the program of expansion of production capacities Ovostar plans to launch four poultry houses for laying hens and two chicken houses for fattening of growing stock. In 2013 the company intends to launch two more poultry houses for laying hens of 600 thousand heads, said the report.

The representatives of the company estimate that the necessary investments to implement this program will amount to $50 million. Ovostar Union is considering the possibility of attracting these funds from operational activity, bank loans, as well as the additional issue of shares.

Last year the company increased production of eggs by 14% compared with the level of 2010 – up to 623 million units. The production of liquid and dried egg products was increased by 10%, to 3.84 thousands tonnes and 1.35 thousands tonnes, respectively. Net profit of Ovostar in 2011 amount to $20.13 million, more than double that of 2010.
