Malaysian Pembangunan Buku Hijau Holdings orders 10 ships
The Kuala Lumpur poultry meat processor and supplier awarded the contract for ten livestock carriers consisting of two different types of carrier to the medium sized Korean shipbuilding company of Sungdong Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, based in South Korea.
The contract is worth US$556 million, with the first ships to be delivered in 2013. The contract with Pembangunan Buku Hijau Holdings also carries the option for an additional ten carriers of the same type.
