US poultry processor, OK Industries, is increasing the size of its team by 110 positions in Fort Smith and 72 positions in its Heavener, Oklahoma operation and is undertaking a $7 million renovation project to enhance its processing capabilities.

The new team members will principally work in chicken deboning and further processing roles. First priority will be given to placing previously furloughed employees into the new positions.

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to offer a place on our team to a significant number of new folks, stated Ken Primm, Chief Operating Officer of OK Foods. “We appreciate the good work our people have done—our need for more people is a direct result of their efforts in creating the Quality-Guarded products for which we are known.”

With headquarters in Fort Smith, Arkansas, OK employs over 2,800 people and exports to 19 countries around the world.

In 2011 OK Industries was subjected to a take over by Mexico’s leading producer and processor of poultry products, Industrias Bachoco.
