The egg production industry in Kazakhstan has shown continuous growth in the first five months of 2013, according to a report by Kazakhstan’s statistics agency

“From January to May 2013 total egg production was 1,512 million units, an increase of almost 6% compare to the same period the previous year,” the agency said. According to the report, the highest growth rate has been observed in the farms of the Almaty Region where it has produced almost 20% of Kazakhstan eggs (about 333.4 million units).

According to the agency, “this year the average monthly figures of egg production exceeded last year’s level by 10-15 million eggs. For example, in May 2013, the country produced 348 million eggs while in May 2012 this figure was equal only to 336 million. “

In addition, the report of the Statistical Service indicated a significant increase in the poultry population. By June 1, the number of birds in Kazakhstan was close to 36,796 thousand, which is by 183 thousand higher than in 2012. In general, the agency forecast that the growth of egg production in the country will continue until the end of this year.
