Hundreds of orphans across Swaziland are receiving much-needed high quality egg protein thanks to the international egg industry, which has been supporting Project Canaan’s egg farm for 18 months.

IEC’s Steven Manton visits Project Canaan

Representing the International Egg Foundation(IEF), Steve Manton has been visiting Project Canaan ahead of the International Egg Commission’s (IEC) annual meeting in Bruges next month.

Writing from Nkonyeni, Mr Manton said he was extremely proud to be involved with a team that was working so hard to change people’s lives.

“I am extremely proud to say that I have played a very small role in such a massive professional and extremely worthwhile humanitarian push/effort.

“The team has been trying so greatly to improve life and general nutrition levels in Swaziland, where TB and HIV have wreaked so much havoc over the years.”

Distributing 1000’s of eggs daily

Project Canaan distributes nearly 4,500 hard boiled eggs every day through 31 rural feeding stations to orphans and vulnerable children across Swaziland. The eggs provide vital protein to combat malnutrition.
