Poultry integrator OOO PF Akashevskaya, located in the Republic of Mari El, Russia, has invested in four new hatcheries, all of which are to be commissioned in 2013.

The first hatchery of 65 million eggs is currently being constructed, and the second and third (31 and 14 million eggs/year respectively) will be delivered in the second half of 2013. During the recent VIV Russia show, Akashevskaya also signed a new deal for the delivery of a fourth hatchery for parent stock (15 million eggs/year). That will bring the total capacity of PF Akashevskaya to 150 million eggs per year.

Akashevskaya has selected Petersime to supply the incubators – type BioStreamer, completely equipped with the most modern incubation technologies such as Eco-Drive, Eye-Blink and Embryo-Response Incubation technology. Moreover, Petersime is providing the hatcheries’ HVAC equipment.

Petersime distributor in Russia, Hartmann GmbH is coordinating the entire project: hatchery layout, delivery, installation, commissioning, and training of local staff.

The cooperation between Akashevskaya and Petersime and Hartmann started in 2009, when Akashevskaya invested in the first hatchery of 25 million eggs/ year. The equipment, the good collaboration, and most of all the excellent chick quality have convinced the company to make further hatchery investments with Petersime and Hartmann.

The construction of the three new hatcheries is part of an impressive extension programme at Akashevskaya: the total meat production volume will increase from 60,000 tonnes to 200,000 tonnes per year.
