Make sure the feeding pans are not tilted

High-sided feeding pans are difficult for chicks to reach.

Older feed pans often have a higher edge than newer types. When using old type feedes it is a big advantage to tip the feed pan. If you do not tip it the day old chicks will not have a chance to find the feed. You can still find new feed pans with a relatively high edge. Tilting these is also an advantage when making feed available for the chicks.
