Rebuilding Iraq's agriculture after the war
Oil and agriculture do not mix. In looking at the challenges facing Iraq,
many problems have been caused by the country's reliance on petroleum, not
agriculture. Similar neglect can be seen in Nigeria, Mexico, Indonesia and
Cameroon. Let's hope that the new Iraqi administration will strive to change
this over-reliance where 95% of Iraq's foreign exhange comes from petroleum.
