Don Dalton retires from USPOULTRY

The US Poultry & Egg Association has announced that Don Dalton, president, is retiring from the organisation on 30 November, after 18 years of service.

Dalton started at USPOULTRY as vice president, government relations and trade show in 1989, and moved into the president’s position in 1992. When Dalton was general manager at Valmac Industries, he served on the association’s board of directors and as chairman.
During his term as president, Dalton oversaw the continued growth of the association’s educational programmes and the International Poultry Expo. Both the Harold E. Ford Foundation, which supports poultry science programmes, and the Poultry Protein & Fat Council, which aids poultry renderers, were formed.
“I’ve been very fortunate to have an accomplished staff and supportive board of directors to make such strides in the association and the industry possible, and now the mystery of retirement is laid out for me to solve,” said Dalton.
Throughout the years, Dalton has served the industry as a director of the Animal Agriculture Alliance and the International HACCP Alliance, as well as serving on many committees and commissions.
