Distinguished poultry veterinarian dies
Arnold S. "Rosy" Rosenwald, extension poultry
pathologist emeritus at the University of California, Davis, died on 23 Jan at
age 98.
Rosenwald's dedicated career to poultry medicine spanned more than 70 years.
He initiated the Extension Poultry Disease Program in 1946 when he accepted a
job at UC Berkeley for four years until he joined UC Davis in 1950, where he
remained until his retirement in 1977.
Rosenwald, in addition to his multitude of honours and accolades, was a
charter and life member of the American Association of Avian Pathologists and
served in multiple roles at the organisation.
UC Davis is planning a memorial service to honor Rosenwald in late
February.
