New larger vials for poultry vaccine against Salmonella
Lohmann Animal Health's AviPro Salmonella vac E, the
live oral vaccine against Salmonella enteritidis, is now available in larger
size vials of 5,000 doses.
Supplied in packs of 10, the vaccine, said to be one of the most successful and effective against S enteritidis, is added to the drinking water of layers and broiler-breeders. While this is already a convenient way of delivering the salmonella vaccine, the company says that the new size will make it quicker and easier, particularly on large-scale poultry farms, in addition to saving storage space.
AviPro Salmonella vac E, the first live vaccine against S. Enteritidis, avoids the need for individual handling and injection of chicks and stimulates strong immunity giving long-lasting protection. It does not survive in the environment or interfere with serological monitoring schemes.
