Dow Biocides to showcase glutex at IPE

Dow Biocides, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) and global leader in antimicrobial solutions, will showcase its GLUTEX™ portfolio of solutions for animal biosecurity efforts at the IPE 2009 conference.

Designed specifically for animal biosecurity applications, GLUTEX™ products consist of specially formulated sanitizers for farm animal and poultry facilities and equipment as well as a line of cleaners for use prior to sanitization. These products are ideally suited to meet the diverse biosecurity management demands of most farm facilities by combining the powerful antimicrobial action of glutaraldehyde with an effective detergent, says the company.

Through regular use in hatcheries, poultry, swine and aquaculture farms for the disinfection of buildings, equipment & vehicles, GLUTEX sanitizers and cleaners can play a role in developing a comprehensive animal biosecurity programme. In addition, GLUTEX sanitizers have demonstrated efficacy and can be used in controlling a range of micro-organisms that cause animal diseases.

According to Nanette Hermsen, global marketing manager for Dow Biocides, “When put to the test GLUTEX kills more bacteria and mold than the competition and proves to be effective against the spread of viruses and diseases that can threaten a farm.”
