The veterinary authority in Norway has reported an outbreak of low pathogenic avian influenza to the World Organisation for Animal Health.

The report covers a single outbreak of bird flu of (so far) unknown serotype in a non-commercial flock of hens and geese. It is reported that the outbreak began on 17 November, and all 50 birds on the farm have been destroyed.

The affected farm is in the region of Ostfold in the south-east of the country, near to the border with Sweden.
