FSIS: workshops for small plants

The USDA announces the dates for its series of “how to” workshops for small and very small processing plants for the month of February.

The workshops aim to provide practical tools and methods for proper application and compliance in such areas as: Specified Risk Materials (SRMs), developing controls for salmonella and campylobacter, establishing effective sanitation practices, developing food defense plans, ensuring humane handling of livestock and conducting product recalls.

A workshop that will be of particular interst to those inthe poultry procesing industry is entitled “Controlling Salmonella and Campylobacter in Poultry Plants”.
