With more than half – over 55% – of the exhibitors at EuroTier 2016 now coming from outside Germany, the event’s international reputation is becoming well established.

This is also reflected in the number of country pavilions – used to present a complete picture of a nation’s agricultural output – which also continues to grow. This year’s first-timers are pavilions from: Bulgaria, South Korea, New Zealand and Thailand. These join the existing pavilions from China, Finland, France, Spain and the UK.

Government bodies supporting international trade

So, EuroTier 2016 will feature nine country pavilions, hosting some 200 companies in total and accounting for more than 4,300 square metres of floor space. Many of the pavilions are organised by national government bodies as a way of promoting the export of livestock and technologies from the specific country.

Exhibiting at a national pavilion also makes economic sense. It gives SMEs, especially, the opportunity to pool resources to jointly participate and market themselves at a trade event on the scale of EuroTier. It also gives them the advantage of tapping into export promotion programs.

“EuroTier is going to be even more international this year,” says Ulrike Schmidt-Machinek, head of International Sales. “We see a direct correlation between interest in national pavilions and the degree of international participation at the exhibition.

Importance of a country’s livestock sector

Governmental support is always behind a country’s pavilion, as it demonstrates that nation’s understanding of the political and economic importance of the livestock sector and the importance of EuroTier as the international meeting point and platform for exports into the world.

Some countries, like newcomer Bulgaria, are bringing high-ranking representatives from the country’s Ministry of Agriculture. Indeed Bulgaria‘s minister of agriculture is expected to be at EuroTier, reflecting the importance of the livestock sector to Bulgaria.

Big presence from France

France is traditionally one of top four exhibiting nations at EuroTier. And 2016 marks the country’s biggest ever presence. The show will feature 142 French companies in total, with 40 companies represented in the country pavilions. The pavilion in hall 20 with 21 companies, many of these from Brittany, is the largest with a focus on feed and feed additives. The pavilions are organised by Adepta jointly with ‘Bretagne Commerce International’.

Bulgaria, South Korea and New Zealand and Thailand are all participating in EuroTier with national pavilions for the first time this year. “We are delighted to welcome these new pavilions,” says Schmidt-Machinek. “They reinforce the show’s role as a recognised international platform that reaches visitors from the key export markets they are looking for.
