Aviagen launches 2021 global parent stock nutrition specifications

Aviagen has recently launched its 2021 Global Parent Stock Nutrition Specifications for the Arbor Acres, Indian River, and Ross brands, which it says will help customers optimise bird performance, health, and welfare. Developed by Aviagen nutritionists, these specifications detail the optimal nutrient balance (including amino acids, energy, vitamins, and minerals) applicable through the life of a flock.

Balticovo introduces egg protein ice-cream

Egg and egg product producer Balticovo has entered the ice-cream segment with 2 new products produced from cage-free eggs: a plombir ice-cream based on a traditional recipe, and the first egg protein ice-cream in the Baltic market. The ice-cream, which is already available in various stores across Latvia, is offered in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and mango flavours. It has high protein and low carbohydrate content and offers a unique nutritional alternative to traditional ice-creams, says the company.

DSM launches sustainability service for animal protein production

Royal DSM has announced the launch of a new intelligent sustainability service, Sustell, to drive improvements in the environmental footprint and profitability of animal protein production. The service is built around a platform connected to Blonk’s APS footprint tool, together with an ‘Expert Center’ made up of a team of DSM and Blonk experts. The Expert Center partners with animal protein producers, assessing the baseline environmental footprint of their animal production using their actual farm and feed data, and develops case-specific intervention scenarios known as ‘what-if’ models to make measurable sustainability improvements.

Singao launches new generation of sodium butyrate

Singao in China has developed and synthesised sodium butyrate in its Ding Su G product (>98% sodium butyrate), which the company says features reduced butyric odour, is applicable to all animals, is easily incorporated into feed, premixes, additives and animal health products, is released slowly in the stomach and intestines, and is made using crystalline matrix with interwoven structure, which is a novel technology.

Alltech launches poultry manure online scoring system

Alltech has announced the launch of its Poultry Manure Online Scoring System, which it says is a guide to walk poultry producers through the process of monitoring faeces step by step. It offers preparation tips and an interactive analysis with a library of reference images. The online system delivers a comprehensive report demonstrating potential causes and issues, and archives past farm reports.

Evonik develops system solutions for poultry gut health

Evonik has developed science-based system solutions for the gut health of broiler chickens and laying hens. The company says that this approach, which includes a tailored combination of its feeding concepts, amino acids, probiotics, services, and consulting, makes it possible to keep animals healthy without the use of antibiotics, and to produce meat in a sustainable and economically profitable manner. The new gut health system solutions were presented to the professional public for the first time at the Virtual All About Feed Forum.

EuroTier China 2021 takes place together with AgriFuture

EuroTier China will open its doors from 18-20 October in Nanjing at the China Jiangsu Baima Agriculture International Expo Center. Besides the trade fair, visitors and exhibitors can expect a condensed conference programme and field trips. Together with the AgriFuture Conference China, which will focus on future trends in agriculture, EuroTier brings national and international experts from the animal farming industry on stage to exchange ideas on trend-setting topics.

Duravant acquires Foodmate

Duravant, a global engineered equipment and automation solutions provider to the food processing, packaging, and material handling sectors, has announced the completion of its acquisition of Foodmate, a manufacturer of poultry processing equipment dual-headquartered in Georgia and the Netherlands.

Cobb and Al-Watania Poultry to double production

Cobb-Vantress and its partner Al-Watania Poultry are celebrating continued expansion in the Middle East. Following investments in hatcheries, grandparent operations, and distribution, the companies are set to produce 4 million Cobb500 parent stock per year beginning this year. This is a 100% increase in production from the previous year and is expected to increase food security in Saudi Arabia and the surrounding Gulf Cooperation Council member countries.

CPF launches plant-based Meat Zero

In Thailand, Charoen Pokphand Foods has unveiled Meat Zero, which the company says is made from plants and manufactured to feel, taste, and appear like real meat. CPF expects the new product, which uses Plant-Tec innovation, to appeal to health-conscious consumers, is affordable and available as ready-to-cook. The product will be marketed in Asia in 2021, and then in Europe and the US.
