Ukraine restricts poultry exports to the Customs Union

The Ukrainian State Veterinary and Biosecurity Service has restricted the supply of animal products, primarily poultry from four companies to the countries of the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan), Russian veterinary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor reports.

The reason for the ban was the disclosure of banned and harmful substances in the batches of animal products from Agromars, Tavr-Plus, Elitex, and Myronivska poultry factory. Which harmful substances were revealed has not been reported.

It is also worth to note that two of these companies, Agromars and Tavr-Plus, which produce poultry, have already drawn the attention of veterinarians this year. In February, a batch of products made by Agromars was returned for violations of safety norms. In March, problems with products made by Tavr-Plus were discovered.
