The bigger picture: Monitoring poultry gut health
Dutch-based Royal GD, a leading organisation in animal health and animal production, performs necropsies on a daily basis.
Veterinarians Robert Jan Molenaar and assistant Gerben Slagter carry out postmortems on broilers as part of a standard monitoring programme for gut health.
As part of this programme, Royal GD handled 7,000 birds from commercial farms and backyard flocks originating from all across the Netherlands. In addition, their state-of-the-art veterinary laboratories and veterinary knowledge and expertise are supporting poultry producers worldwide.
