People: Excentials appoints general manager in Brazil

European based supplier of specialty feed additives, Excentials has apoointed Marcos Banov as general manager of its local office in Brazil.

Banov’s main responsibilities are to obtain MAPA registrations for the remaining Excentials product line, to identify and develop a strong and sustainable distribution channel for all major species and to identify and manage key accounts that the Excentials local team can service directly. Excentials has already setup an own legal entity in Brazil and first MAPA registration for Excential Butycoat (micro-encapsulated sodium butyrate) has already been obtained, allowing a quick entry to the market.

With over 28 years of experience in the Brazilian feed sector, Banov brings a vast network of contacts and potential customers that can benefit from the solutions that Excentials has to offer. He is well acquainted with key players in the industry such as pre-mixers, poultry and swine integrators as well as good quality contacts in local research stations and universities. ‘

Brazil is the largest feed market of Latin America and the 3rd largest feed market worldwide with an estimated yearly feed production of over 60 million metric tonnes. Brazil is the largest net exporter of broiler meat worldwide. With a large population close to 200 million and a solid economy with relative good growth rates Brazil is positioned to have a dominant role in the protein production worldwide for the coming years.

Arno van der Aa, Business Development Manager at Excentials comments: ”Excentials has clearly defined goals for its global expansion, of which an own office in a major market such as Brazil has been a strong focus. Excentials business in LATAM market is growing to more serious proportions since during last half year in several countries such as Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Mexico product registrations have been obtained, leading to a significant increasing turnover in the region. Ground work of setting up a legal entity and first product registration in Brazil has been performed already. This gives strong confidence that the appointment of Marcos Banov is right in time to take business in Brazil to the next level.”
