Bird flu discovered in Edinburgh

17-03-2008 | |

It has been reported that bird flu has been detected at a farm in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Tests routinely carried out on the farm showed signs of the virus in several birds at Easter Norton Farm, near Edinburgh Airport, reported News.Scotsman. Veterinary experts believe that the strain is not the deadly highly pathogenic H5N1 strain.
Secondary tests are currently being carried out by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in an effort to confirm the reports.
