Registration for the first international conference on avian influenza – BirdFlu2008: Avian Influenza and Human Health – at Oxford (UK) is now open.

The conference will take place from 10-11 September 2008 at St Anne’s College in Oxford, UK .
“We are accepting proposals for podium and poster sessions in most areas of basic and applied research on avian influenza viruses and their potential health and socio-economic impact on humans. A limited number of poster abstracts will also be selected for short oral presentations,” said Dr Muhammad Sohail, conference coordinator.
The conference will feature two keynote speeches, multiple podium sessions, posters and trade exhibitions.
“This is a not-for-profit conference and aims to set foundations for a regular annual event, providing an international discussion forum at Oxford on basic and applied research on avian influenza viruses. The conference is expected to bring together leading experts in the field from both academia and industry, veterinarians, postdoctoral researchers, graduate research students, research managers and policy makers,” said Sohail.
