Brazil will continue to be a major poultry producer and exporter

Although Brazil and all other South American countries are still free from avian influenza, they are unlikely to reap any benefits form their disease-free status. One of Brazil’s major export markets, the EU, has decreased imports due to a dramatic drop in consumption. Meanwhile, the exchange rate of Brazil’s Real to the Euro has made their broiler meat less competitive. And yet, in the face of this adversity, the future is still bright for the Brazilian poultry industry.
