Brazilian poultry meat exports drop

In 2006, Brazilian poultry meat exports fell 4.67% to 2.71 billion kg. This compares with 2.84 billion kg in 2005.

Exports to Russia were the most significant, with a drop of 28% to 186 million kg. The EU and the Middle East also saw considerable drops, falling by 9% and 11%, respectively.
However, exports to Africa saw a significant rise by almost 49% to 289 million kg. Other South American countries also took a significant proportion of Brazilian poultry meat exports, increasing nearly 16% to 133 million kg.
