China bans chicken from 2 US poultry plants

China has banned imports of meat from 2 US poultry plants and 3 US pork plants, but no reason was given, according to a US Agriculture Department document.

As of 3 August, China is not accepting meat from the Equity Group-KY Division poultry plant at Albany, Kentucky; and the Mountaire Farms poultry plant at Selbyville, Delaware; the Smithfield Foods pork plant at Tar Heel, North Carolina; the John Morrell & Co pork plant at Sioux City, Iowa; and the Seaboard Food pork plant at Guymon, Oklahoma.
