Denmark: NutriFair boasts 25% more exhibitors

The second edition of the Danish exhibition NutriFair appears to confirm that there is a market for a livestock-only trade show in Denmark.

The annual trade show, held in Fredericia, has attracted 207 exhibitors, mostly from Denmark and complemented by some from the UK and Germany. This is an increase of about 25% in comparison to last year’s 152 exhibitors.

In floor space, the show has also grown in size – from 12,300 m2 to 16,000 m2 now.

Peter Sunesen, project executive at exhibition centre Messe C, said he is very pleased with the growth: “More exhibitors does not always mean a better exhibition – if you have 50 of the same type for instance. We grew with quality exhibitors, with the variety being very high.”

NutriFair was started up in January 2012 in response to a permanent date change of Denmark’s traditional agricultural trade show Agromek. This trade show moved to a biannual frequency, being held now in November, just after the world’s largest livestock exhibition EuroTier, in Germany. For many internationally operating companies and visitors, these dates proved to be too close after each other. NutriFair resulted from the call for an alternative for the livestock industry.

In visitor numbers, a slight decrease is expected in comparison to last year’s 5,695 visitors. “That is what we anticipate being the third in a row,” Sunesen said, pointing to EuroTier and Agromek, both held in November.

The first show day confirmed this with a quiet start and a good and busy afternoon.

NutriFair is more than a fair around animal nutrition and feed, as products for indoor mechanisation, animal welfare for the animal production industry can also be found. The fair also has a conference programme with conferences and seminars. NutriFair will be concluded today.
