Novus sponsors poultry articles project

The Poultry Science Association, established in 1908, first started making articles in the journal “Poultry Science” electronically accessible in 1996. The articles of before 1996 are now being digitised, indexed and placed on the internet.

To do so, the Poultry Science Association Foundation has created The Legacy Project. Novus International helped launch PSA Foundation’s Legacy Project capital campaign with a challenge grant at the 98th annual PSA meeting in Raleigh, N.C. earlier this year. Novus recognizes the need for digitized journals. This need has developed because there are fewer repositories of information than in years past due the dearth of academic institutions offering curricula in poultry science.

“This support is more necessary than before as there are fewer poultry science departments today, which puts a stress on academia,” said Dr. Drew Giesen, Marketing Technical Services, Novus International, Inc. “We’ve set up an interesting approach for the membership and others to participate,” said Saylor. The PSA Foundation will be offering three levels of support: an issue can be sponsored for $100, a volume for $1,000 or an entire decade for $5,000.
