Pas Reform wins BNA Building of the Year

Pas Reform’s Global Distribution Center in Doetinchem, the Netherlands has won a national Building of the Year Award in The Netherlands.

The jury said from what could have been a relatively banal assignment – a distribution centre on a business park – the architects have created a super-functional yet exceptionally beautiful building, that inspires curiosity and raises its function to a higher level.

Notable design features include the loading and unloading areas for trucks, which are integrated into the façade; the huge, pivotal entrance and the raised office, which looks out over the warehouse. Inside, the architecture provides a safe, healthy working environment, by day and night and supports the logistics, with optimised routing and layout and an internal supporting structure that cleverly integrates storage to maximise space.

“The architects, Cepezed, translated our vision for a smart distribution center with great skill and understanding,” says Pas Reform’s Marketing Director, Henry Arts. “The building embraces economy and efficiency, and it is future-proofed, ready for expansion and increasingly limited use of energy.

“But it was also designed for the staff and visitors who spend time here. Design is an inherent part of Pas Reform: an asset, not something that is merely cosmetic or superficial.”
