Cherry Valley supplies frozen ducks to Tesco

UK’s Lincolnshire-based Cherry Valley has secured the business to supply Cherry Valley-branded A Grade whole frozen ducks to Tesco, nationwide.

The product, available in a 1.9kg format, contains more meat and less fat than any other brand and is perfectly timed to capitalise on the Christmas period, says the company.

Cherry Valley has been operating since 1959 and is today the UK’s largest duck manufacturer, rearing approx. 8 mln ducks every year, to the highest welfare standards, it says.

Eric Jagger, Sales and Marketing Director at Cherry Valley: “Until last year, we had been out of the retail sector for some time, but this opportunity is part of a continued strategy to expand further in the sector following our listing with Marks & Spencer last year. Our business is the strongest it’s ever been and our welfare standards are second to none as reflected in our recent Freedom Food Accreditation. We are very excited about working with Tesco and delighted to see the product on shelf.”

The listing is the second multiple retailer secured by Cherry Valley, following its on-going supply of a 6-strong portfolio of own-brand products to Marks & Spencer which began in 2008. This year, M&S will again stock the Easy Carve with a Morello Cherry and Pork Stuffing seasonal product alongside the rest of the range in the run up to Christmas.
