Globalgap defines transport standards

11-08-2010 | | |

The Livestock Sector Committee of Globalgap has been working closely together with an expert in the field to develop a Globalgap Transport Standard.

This V1.0 Standard was developed in response to the requirement that the transport of all animals in the Globalgap Integrated Farm Assurance Livestock scheme must only be carried out by Globalgap certified operators and their vehicles. This Transport Standard applies to all operators and vehicles transporting cattle, sheep, calf/young beef, pigs and poultry for a distance of over 65 km and under 65 km for third party transport.

The first draft is now available for public consultation from 9 August to 17 September.
