Large Russian poultry farm goes operational

Russian agroholding Bezrk-Belgrankorm has finished its investment project of constructing the largest poultry complex in the Novgorod region with a total capacity of 64 thousand tonnes of poultry meat per year, the press service of the regional government reported.

In the first phase of the project implementation an incubator, two broiler production sites and the slaughter for deep processing of poultry with an output of 42 thousand tonnes of poultry per year became operational.

In the second phase the complex for growing broiler chickens was expanded and a new broiler area was constructed to increase capacity from 42 to 64 thousand tonnes of poultry per year. 

At the final stage a second-order poultry reproducer was built with a total capacity of 60 million eggs a year. Also the first stage of the reconstruction of the large feed mill has been completed, which will produce about 120 tonnes of feed per year. By the end of 2012 the output of mill is planned to be doubled.

The total cost of the project implementation is 6.5 bln of rubles (US$ 220 mln). It has been financed from the attracted and internal funds of the company. The pay-off period of the complex is about seven years.

Bezrk-Belgrankorm was built in 1998 as a large feed mill and a number of poultry farms. Nowadays it is one of the largest agricultural producers in Russia. It has a multidisciplinary focus engaged in production of poultry, pork, beef, sausage and deli products, milk, grain and animal feed.
